Military, Tank, Armor, War Picture and Armor Model Photo Gallery

.

Much of this Photo Gallery is dedicated to military tank war armor pictures and model kits. We also offer a wide range of car, truck and figure models and numerous other models along with an impressive collection of military miniatures. Some of what you will be seeing in our galleries are pictures and digital images of WW II German Panther, Panzer, and Tiger tanks plus such Allied Armor as the Perishing, Pattons, Abrams, and of course the work hoarse of WW2 the Sherman.

Welcome to our Main Photo Gallery page. On this page, you will find links to individual galleries on different subjects each gallery will open in a new window. Many galleries are filled with photos that you will find of use during your next modeling project or just for shear inspiration to start that next project. You can find pictures on a wide variety of subjects and on the miniature world in general.

We will be constantly be adding new galleries to this page as the demand requires. This is just a beginning place to give you an idea of some of the work we do here at Thenoblehaus Modeling Service. We have tried to separate the galleries in a way that made the most common sense with what we have to add to the site. Many projects are still awaiting photographs as we have been buried with work between the website, the picture shooting, the Modeling Services, and the fact that we now have four children with the two youngest being eighteen months old twins. Just way to much testosterone for one small house.

We have decided to open the site before it is completely done so that we can begin to market the site to search engines and banner exchanges. This and balancing the need to get back to our full run of kits for the site, customers, and for sale on ebay has prompted us to take this action. With any luck, we have the Photo Galleries 75% populated by the now.  We will add more galleries as space requires as we still haven't found a better cheap solution to handling the photo section.

We hope to have some in process photos in the near future now that we have finally entered the age of digital photograph. With this in mind, this is why you will find some of the subject matter rather narrowly focused. The galleries are of things that are still in our personal collection or just recently (last six months) sold. This is only meant to be a showpiece of just some of what is possible if you decide to have us build your next project and not a catalog of what we have done in the past or will do in the future.

We have also included in the Photo Gallery section a place for you to upload your favorite project or two so that you can share your work with our other visitors. We hope this section fills up quickly as I know we all like to show off our work on that really great kit we have just finished. (See instructions below on uploading your pictures under “Visitors Gallery,” Gallery # 5) More will be added as necessary so upload as you would.

If you don’t see a photo that you think should be part of this page let us know and we will try to add it as soon as possible from one of our up coming projects. We will also post a list of these requests and maybe one of our visitors can add one to the Visitors’ Galleries. Photos are added on a daily basis so check back frequently to see what is new.

We are looking to have a newsletter at some point down the road to be of a greater service to you. We would enjoy hearing from you as to what you might want to see in this newsletter so that we may serve the modeling hobby and your personal likes and dislikes better. You can sign up for our mailing list on the “Home Page.”

Thanks and welcome to the list ahead of time.

PS. Please keep in mind that this site is under renovation (webmaster talk for we’re a mess and we’re still building the darn place) and certain parts of the site may have our construction foreperson on it she's worth checking out. I'm hoping as of this update September, 2005 we will have the site about 98% complete. I'm still looking for a site where I can build a really neat Flash intro to showcase our work, if you have any ideas just drop us an e-mail.

Don't forget to checkout Our eBay Auctions!

We try our best to maintain all links to be current and working but if you find one that does not work let us know by dropping us an e-mail from the “Contact Us “ page. Also, this page is new and is still being constructed and updated so the content will get better we promise. If you have any ideas on how we can arrange this page better to make it more functional for you please do so. Just drop use a mail from the “Contact Us” page with “Thenoblehaus Gallery layout idea” In the subject line and we will try to incorporate it into future revisions of this page.

The Patton Tank, Gallery # 1

This Gallery is one of my favorite galleries not just, because it is the first gallery but because I have always had a love for the American Patton tank and the great man for which it is named. I think I have built about 85% of the variants of the Patton that were built. This led me to the natural beginning of the beast, which was the Pershing tank. My collection starts with the M26A1 Pershing (the DML T26E3 was out of production by the time I got to building the Pershing end of the Pattons.) I now have a couple of the kits in my collection since the re-release of the kit, Wahoo!

I actually started with the M60, which is my real love of the beast, but like out of any great obsession I found myself drawn to the roots of the tank, which ended up with the M26A1. I will probably have to open a second gallery for round two of my Patton collection as I have another ten or so models to thin out. We only have so much room and I would rather see someone enjoy the work I have put into them than to have them in some box collecting dust. Besides that, the dust doesn’t do my allergies any good.

The Sherman Tank, Gallery # 2

This Gallery is dedicated to the workhorse of the Allied Armies of WW II the mass-produced and solid contender for the armor vehicle of the war. Now if you had asked me half a dozen years or so ago I probably wouldn’t have been able to make that statement. But the Sherman's solid performance and dependable record has proven otherwise to any of its skeptics.

No, it wasn’t the biggest gun on the block or the fastest on or off road. Its crews thought it to be under armored, many a German 88, and 75mm gun holes might prove this point. But the fact is the Sherman’s all around held its own against any of the German Armor. The Sherman was far more dependable and easier to maintain than its German counter parts thus left more tanks in service at any given time.

Being a recent convert to the love of the Sherman there are not a lot of examples of the Sherman in my gallery yet. This will change soon as I have no less than three in various stages of final weathering and paint. So, enjoy what’s here for now and check back soon to see the new additions.

The WWII German Tank, Gallery # 3

This Gallery is for you fans of German WW II armor and I know there are a lot of you out there. Don’t get me wrong by my celebration of the Sherman in Gallery # 2 that there isn’t a soft spot in my heart for the works of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche there is. Anyone that could come up with something as complex as the Tiger and as simple as the Kubelwagen gets my vote for designer of the war. I have a soft spot for the Kubelwagen about as deep as the Sherman and the Patton. One of my first vehicles was a 1966 VW Bug.

What the Germans lacked in mechanical dependability they made up for with the shear numbers and variants of designs. I’m talking some real cool stuff no matter how impractical it was. Anyone that had to ever change an inner road wheel on a Panther or Tiger can attest to that. But the truth of it is there is just way to many German armor freaks out there to pass the subject over. Besides, I saw “Kelly’s Heroes” at the drive in when I was like 8 and fell head over heals for all things with tracks. I know a drive what? You should see what happens when I see a nice new excavator, ooh baby. LOL

The Car & Truck, Gallery # 4

This Gallery is the car and truck gallery. I know what no tracks? Yes, we do things with wheels and shiny paint although not as often as military projects. There just are not as many collectors willing to foot the bill for a really nice car, as there are for armor. After all, there is die cast to compete with.

At this time, there are only a few pieces in the gallery because most stuff was sold before we got our camera. We do have one AMT Kenworth K-123 cabover kit from the sixties in the works we will add it when we get it done, sometime around the turn of the next century it looks like. We have a few we are working on for our own collection that we work on when time permits. So, step inside and have a quick look around.

Our Military Armor, Tank, and Model Photo Gallery Part II

The Public, Gallery # 5

Gallery # 5 is the first of our public galleries to be installed on this site. We hope to be able to bring you many more in the near future. It will depend on how much help we get in sponsoring and how much people follow the few simple rules. Please do your part by contributing to the public gallery fund and by contributing your pictures to the public gallery. Who knows your picture may be among the fist added to the future newsletter as the main visitors spotlight picture.

It is easy to add your pictures to our site of the art public galleries just follow the six simple step-by-step directions listed below.

  • 1.      Click on the icon for “Photo Gallery #5” below it will open up in a new browser like all the other galleries.

  • 2.      Next under the word “Home” click on the link that says “Upload New Photos” this will load the upload page.

  • 3.      Next, it will ask you “Select how many pictures to upload” use   the drop down menu to select from 1 to 10 pictures to upload select one. You will next be prompted below to ”Enter your Email Address:” Please enter a valid address this is for notification purposes only. We do not store these e-mails if you want to be on our mailing list you must sign up for this service on our home page. (Please see our privacy statement below) When done then click the “Choose Pictures ->” button.

  • 4.      Now you will be brought to a page entitled “Uploading 2 photo(s).” On this page, you will see a series of prompt boxes depending on how many photos you told it to upload on the previous page. The first prompt is for “Photo 1:” hit the browse button and pick the folder that contains the file of your picture you want to upload. (Allowed file types are .GIF, .JPG and .PNG) Next, enter a title for your picture “Title:” “Example of uploaded picture- sunset sail.” Next, repeat these steps till you have all the pictures you plan on uploading complete try to be as descriptive as possible with your titles. Example; DML M26A1 Pershing AFV Club tracks Korean War. The upload may take awhile depending on connection speed and number of files to upload.

  • 5.      If all goes well you will see ” Upload Complete. Your files have been uploaded to a private album, and the owner of this site has been notified of your upload.”

  • 6.      Next, I will review the pictures to see that they are appropriate for the site and send them to the correct folder where all our visitors can view them. I am pretty lenient about subject matter depending on the folder. I do tend to give more leeway in the “Figures” folder knowing that this is a very artistic medium. I do not like censorship and keep that in mind when judging the appropriateness of photos but I do have a responsibility to the entire group of guests here at Thenoblehaus. Thanks for posting your pic to our site.

If you do not see your pictures in the gallery with in a couple of days chances are either the gallery is full and we need to add a new Public Gallery or your photo was not suitable for the site, sorry. For your protection, your IP address will appear in the title “photo uploaded by:” this is to protect your copyrights. For more about copyrights see the Privacy and Copyright statement at the bottom of this page. We look forward to seeing your work and sharing it with the rest of the visitors to Thenoblehaus. Good posting and remember you can always leave a detailed description of the work in the D’board so we know all the work and extra goodies that went into your project.

The Modern Tank, Gallery # 6

Gallery # 6 is where you will find a collection of our modern armor works. By modern, we mean everything from the Vietnam War to contemporary day armor. In here you will find a British Scimitar tank that I did up in markings for the relief effort in Bosnia Herzegovina after the Gulf War part one and you can still see its desert tan paint sneaking through. You will also find an award winning ZSU-23-4U1 Shilka done up for the Soviet War in Afghanistan it took quit sometime to get that Brown Paint down just right.

The Soft-skin Military Vehicle, Gallery # 7

Gallery # 7 is the last of the original seven galleries. No picture album would be complete on the subject of the miniature world without a look at the backbone of any modern military, soft-skin vehicles. Yes trucks and the like! They move tons of equipment needed to keep any modern army going. They probably out number the armor units 3 to 1 and for good reason, AFVs and IFVs are pretty worthless without fuel and ammo. This is an area that we love but don’t get to spend nearly as much time building as we would like to. Most customers would prefer an armor vehicle to a soft-skin most of the time.

The Patton Tank, Gallery # 8

Gallery # 8 is the Son of Patton in a gallery near you part due. As I said in Gallery # 1 narrative is one of my favorite galleries because I have always had a love for the American Patton tank and the great man for which it is named. I think I have built about 85% of the variants of the Patton that were ever built and probably a few that were not. This with the natural beginning of the beast, which was the Pershing tank (see Gallery #1). My collection starts with the M26A1 Pershing (the DML T26E3 was out of production by the time I got to building the Pershing end of the Pattons.)

I now have a couple of the kits in my collection since the re-release of the kit, Wahoo! And hope to build this one too. I also have Chesapeake Model Designs’ M48 conversion (kit # CMD 24) and with that great article in MMIR # 20 (page 43) “G.I. Blues” The Kings ride I don’t know whether to a M48 or do up Elvis’s M48A1. Decision, decisions, what is one to do? Ah heck just build both and don’t worry about the little things, you know 1/144 th Scale, lol.

I actually started with the M60, which is my real love of the beast, but like out of any great obsession I found myself drawn to the roots of the tank, which ended up with the M26A1. Well this is the second gallery for round two of my Patton collection as I have another ten or so models to thin out. We only have so much room and I would rather see someone enjoy the work I have put into them than to have them in some box collecting dust. Besides that, the dust doesn’t do my allergies any good.

The WW II Allied Tank, Gallery # 9

Gallery # 9 has come all to soon! Didn’t know what it was going to be about but I was sure it would be good. Well the long anticipated wait is over, how could we do a section on German armor without doing a section on Allied Armor of WW II. This section covers all the different countries of the Allied Army, Russia, Great Britain, The United States, and yes if I ever get a round to it some of the smaller countries like the French.

This should cover us for a while with all the different subject matters covered. I am sure that somewhere along the road, I will need to add more galleries but this should cover us for quite sometime. It always seams to take longer than I expect to get all the photo shot, edited, and then up-loaded to the net so you can see them. I am trying to do this as much as possible in between all the other duties I seem to have. Please be understanding.

One of the first kits in this gallery is rightfully the DML / Dragon JS II kit done up in WWII Russian paint and slogans. I say rightfully because it is probably beyond doubt one of the best kits I have ever built. Not the way it came out, although I am quite pleased with that too. No, I mean the kit is just a pure joy to build with arguably the best manufacturers individual link tracks I have ever used. If you have been afraid of those annoying, irritating, wretched little links in kits try building this kit (I used the JS II Chinese Volunteer kit, although the WWII version would probably use the same tracks?). Try it; it just may help that fear of the individual link syndrome go away.
